Taking place every year through August, the Vancouver Mural Festival is an annual celebration of the city’s diverse and talented art scene.
Running from August 1st to 10th, the VMF invites an impressive lineup of artists to create permanent, large-scale murals that act, at once, as a contribution to Vancouver’s cultural legacy, a forum for expression, and a platform for local artists to make their mark. It takes place around the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, which is well-known for long being a creative hub. This year, there will be more than 25 new public murals painted!
And, for visitors to Vancouver, the festival marks a great opportunity for exploring this culturally-rich neighbourhood, taking in some fantastic public art, and even learning more about our city’s history!
Along with the murals, the festival also includes a wide variety of accompanying events throughout its 10-day run. Festivalgoers can expect everything from beer gardens, live music, and a street party to curator talks and an all-ages painting challenge.
When planning your trip to Vancouver this August, be sure to book your stay with us here at Georgian Court Hotel Vancouver. We’re conveniently located — under 10 minutes from Mount Pleasant, where all the VMF festivities will be taking place — and have a wide variety of luxurious guestrooms and suites to choose from with thoughtful amenities such as in-room yoga mats, Nespresso® machines, and rain showers.
